Hubby, please excuse me from housework today...

When Tim and I decided to take on this remodeling adventure, I underestimated just how long it would take.

I've been consumed with picking out grout colors (who knew there were SO many?), choosing baseboards and crown moulding, as well as watching a 1001 online videos from how to mix mortar correctly (trust me, if there was a way to screw it up, we'd find it...and we did) to how to remodel your home without wanting to chop your spouse up into a tiny million pieces.

I knew it was time to take a break when I started having visions of whacking Tim over the head with a trowel...which is probably not a wise thing to do when he has immediate access to a saw, a bucket of mortar and some rope.

I said, "Hey, do you mind if I take a little break...I've been asked to do a guest post on a fabulous blog and I'd really like to start working on it."

Tim was nodding his head from the minute he heard the words "mind if I take a little break".

Hmmmm, is there a chance that I was working his last nerve as well? Nahhh, that's impossible. I provide nothing but constant entertainment for him. I think.

So I owe a huge thank you to Lee at Headaches, Hormones and Hot Flashes...also founder of Compulsive Comment Worshipers Anonymous (CCWA) along with Tracie at Stir-Fry Awesomeness and Erin at The Mother Load....for asking me to write a guest post for CCWA on how to gain followers and manage blog comments, which in turn, got me out of laying tile in the foyer.

Great timing on her part, don't you think? Just one more reason I love Lee and her little crystal ball.

In case you've been locked away in a closet somewhere and missed out on the news, CCWA is a site dedicated to bloggers everywhere who are addicted to receiving comments on their blogs...hence, the tagline "Feeding your addiction, one comment at a time".

So....what are you waiting for?? Come over to CCWA and read my guest post! While you're there, don't forget to become a follower...and leave a comment!

All the cool kids are doing it.

Ha already been there done that and drank the koolaid for your site long ago lol. Glad hubby was wise enough to allow you to skip out on tiling the floor. I think he read your mind. wait No that is not possible our minds would shortcircuit a mans mind.. too much going on all at once..

Hey Helene, will be checking that post out! YEs, I hear you on the renovation, hubby and I restored and remodeled an entire house together while adjusting to having a new baby around. Recipe for disaster? I think so!

Here from CCWA.

Very informative and right on the money. :)

Excellent excuses. My blog, however, does not get me out of stuff hubby wants me to do.

But then, his work does not get him out of stuff I want him to do, either.

Home renovation is it's own special realm of hell. I don't mean to sound harsh, but home renovation is! We did our living room & kitchen a couple of years ago, and are considering the master bath and bed...shudder! I don't think my husband or I are a 100% over the first renovation!

Great post. I'll go check out the link now!

Step away from the grout, baby! We all need a little break every now and then.

Have a great day filled with sweet blessings from above.

I cant believe you left Tim to do ALL that work by himself. You should feel so bad ALL day long. ALL the hard work he does and no working on the house and you go blog. Today is a sad day. Tim, if you need some help, I would love to come to Cali and lend a hand. Just have to get my permission slip signed first

Ahhhh, the great grout debacle of 2008. It started out a quiet peaceful day... little did I know.

I totally hear ya on all the ways to mix grout improperly (I probably found another 10 ways to do it wrong as well).

Loved your advice on CCWA.

Yeah my hubs would be begging me to take a break too!

I'm so afraid that the "..locked away in a closet somewhere..." may refer to me ... but I will plow on undetered and check out CCWA ... mostly because you have a post there.

I love, love, love, working on my house and tile may be one of my favorite things to work with ... however, I hire someone to grout because it is such a pain.
The last time, I did a floor that was about 8 x 8 and I was only charged $50.00.

I think you should post your before and after photos at the DIY Showoff ...

And, that my friend, is why I have been trying NOT to comment on your posts about your house projects ... just TMI about things only I'm interested in ... :))

I'm off to check it out!

I wouldn't even know how to lay tile properly.

That's great news! I will certainly be heading there next :)

We remodeled our bathrooms last year. I became a mad wet sawer. As tough as it was at the time, it was so worth it and it makes me so proud knowing my blood, sweat and tears (literally) went into it.

Enjoyed your guest post, and immediately added the "LinkWithin" thingy to my blog, as well as the statcounter you recommended in your other post. Two sets of twins...wow! And a very nice blog, too.

I still can't believe you have taken this remodeling on with the two little ones underfoot, not to mentioin Cole and Bella. Are Garrett and Landon in any kind of MDO?

So, we are doing a little remodeling on a property that we own and unfortunately have no record of the paint color we used 2years ago. Yet I'm supposed to go figure out how to remodel the bathrooms. I'm so overwhelmed so we've got a contractor but I have to figure out the paint first. Just the thought of going to the paintstore and then back to the townhome for the 3rd time in a week makes me cringe and all because the babies are in tow. All the stroller loading and unloading. And then they just have to sit in it while I do what I need to do. My mom said "well you just need to tell him it's not your problem!" Not good advice in my opinion since this little investment is a money maker for both of us and he also works like a dog. But then last night he looked at me just as I was falling asleep and said "I need you to hurry up and finish that townhome." Well, not only did I want to slug him because it's such a pain doing anything with the little ones (I feel so bad saying that), but then I tossed and turned for 45 minutes thinking about it when I would have been sleeping. And this doesn't even come close to what you are doing. But I admire it! I would love to learn how to do all that and think it would be fun to do myself. Can't wait to see pics of the progress as it comes along! Sorry for the super long comment! :)

Remodeling is tough, good to hear you had a guest post to write and had to take a break. Sounds like it was perfectly timed.

Heading over to CCWA now. I've been thinking that I do an awful lot of commenting but haven't seen much of return lately. Maybe I'll learn something over there or connect with others who love to comment and receive comments too.

Daydreaming about physical violence is a sign that it's time for a mommy time out. Glad you have blogging to break away to! I enjoyed your post over at CCWA (and I like the new name better too).

Because I've communicated with you today every way possible except here, I decided to leave you a comment. Even though it has absolutely nothing to do with your post (although I did enjoy your guest blog! Such good tips!!).

And now I present: Random facts about K.M.

1. He's Canadian
2. His wife is named Suzanne
3. He is the stepfather to MATTHEW PERRY! OMG. I died. I would love to hear what joey tribiani thinks of him.
4. He and his wife have SIX kids! Can you imagine him trying to discipline you??
5. He's won an Emmy. I assume for most unique voice-over style, but I could be wrong.

And that, my dear, is why I love wikipedia. I'll work on the FB page later :) hahaha... we are so weird. so so weird.

and by joey tribiani, I mean chandler bing... I always screw those two up.

I couldn't believe how many colors of white there are...thousands. So I feel for you.

And I'm so going over to find out how to handle comments, because I'm so behind.

I figure that if the children are alive when my husband gets home at the end of the day, I've done my job.
