I had read about Curious Chef, a company whose tagline is “real kitchen utensils for small hands” and immediately contacted them to ask if I could review one of their products.
They graciously sent me their 8-piece fruit and vegetable set, which included a small cutting board, silicon mixing spatula, fruit and
Within 5 minutes of opening the package and washing the utensils, the kids were in the fridge picking various colored fruits to make a delicious fruit salad. The Wiggles would’ve been proud.
They sat around their little table, dividing up their responsibilities.
Bella was in charge of coring the apple…
Cole was in charge of slicing the strawberries…
Garrett was responsible for picking the grapes off the bunches of stems, as well as stirring the fruit in the bowl with the spatula…
Landon chose to oversee the project…keeping everyone in line and making sure no one snuck any bites of food before the salad was done (HELLO, Garrett….)
They worked together so well…I know, I was shocked too.
And when they were all done, we had a beautiful fresh fruit salad…YUM!
They loved the Curious Chef utensils, as did I. Each item was sized perfectly for their small hands. And not once did I have to yell, “Wait…don’t touch that!”
Of course, they needed to be supervised but, at the same time, all the utensils were child-friendly so it wasn’t nearly as stressful as it is when I’m using my “grown-up” kitchen utensils.
And the best part….they were so proud of themselves, having made their very own snack from start to finish.
Not to mention how thrilled I was that they were enjoying a HEALTHY snack!
The next day, the kids insisted on making the salad to go with our dinner…using their 8-piece fruit and vegetable set, of course.
I have a feeling we’re going to be eating a lot more healthfully from now on!
You can purchase Curious Chef products at local retailers or online.
Thank you to Curious Chef for providing me with a sample product to review. This review is based solely on my personal opinion and experience.

I wish I had had something like that when my kids were smaller! Would have saved a ton of anxiety and lots of bandaids.

I agree with the others, WOW!! Love their cute little faces, too!!
Those look great!
That looks fun. I want the knife... I always cut myself doing strawberries.
Im gonna have to check those out, the kids look like they had a blast. My kids never understand why they cant help mommy cook on the stove. BTW I gave you an award its on my latest blog.
Is that knife plastic? and it actually cuts??? awesome! I will be looking into these!!!!
Wish I had those for when my kids were small! And now I've got that silly "Fruit Salad" song stuck in my head...
What? You're not supposed to give your kids your big, sharp kitchen knife to use?
We have never had a kitchen injury to a child, even with big sharp scary knives.
Mom, however, has tried to cut her finger off more times than she can count.
That great fruit salad has me thinking of some Wiggles music. The kids looked like that had a great time
Cool product! Even better that it helps the kiddos get along. :)
That's awesome! I wish I could think of crap like that.
Love it, I really am going to have to check out these items. I have 5 children, with 3 of them under 5 and they love to help but like you said it makes me a little crazy. It is so awesome they let you review these. I am excited to see what else they have. Going to check out there website now.

Oh, J & Z would love those, I bet!!
It's so great that they prepared their own snack... just makes them more motivated to eat it. :)
That is so cool. I need to get my lil one some of those kick butt utensils!! The kids seem to be really enjoying themselves. I bet the salad was great!
What an awesome product! I might just need to get these for myself--might keep me from having to clean my blood off when I cut up fruit!

I will have to check that out. I hate when I'm trying to get food ready and the kids won't stay out of my hair. Then they ask to help and all I can think is "but I can do it three times faster if you don't help." Of course, I don't say that and I try to find something for them to do. These look cute!
I'm definitely going to check this out. My kids are always in the kitchen with me and most happy when they can participate in every step of the process! Thanks for sharing this!
It's so great that they make things like this to allow the kids to help now! :)
Yay! Fun :)
Love me some fruit!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets stressed in the kitchen sometimes. Glad you found a fun way to be fruity ;)
Those look wonderful! My two love to help me in the kitchen and would enjoy using those too.
how cute and fun and safe and healthy.
Oh, there for kids! Heeheehe! When I read the teaser in my reader I'm thinkin', wow that would be great. My hands and feet haven't grown since I was in the fifth grade, and to throw fuel in the fire, I'm also a lefty.
Great for getting the punks to make their own healthy snacks to enjoy, not to mention maybe ya can con them into cookin' dinner someday soon! :o)
God bless and enjoy your day!
Must. Tell. My. Families. About this.
That's so smart! Seriously, isn't it ideas like this one that make you think, "Well shit, why didn't I think of that and become a millionaire?"
The salad looked delicious!!
Hugs to you and the kiddos. I'm still smiling over the sign they made me!
Marianne
That is so awesome!! Seriously is there anything people haven't thought of yet!! :)
Your kids are adorable!! Looks like you all had tonz of fun!! :)
very cute~! and very fun!
I like the idea of the knives...
My children are all little helpers in the kitchen, but I'm so paranoid about it. This would make cooking in our kitchen so much easier and stress free.
Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha
What a great idea! I'm gonna have to look into those. My boys love to help out in the kitchen. I always cringe when one of them wants to help cut. This would be perfect!
Helene, I usually bypass product reviews fairly quickly, unless it is someone I read regularly, but you have a way with them that makes me want to read more.
These products look great. I particularly like the knife that is safe for children to use, I usually get my kids to cut vegetables with a butter knife, but I think this would work better.
Shelly
to cool! I'm so getting that when Bella gets older
This is pretty cool!
I'm going to look into this set b/c my kids love to help in the kitchen as well but it always makes me so nervous....
Thanks for sharing this cool idea! And I"m all about a healthy fruit salad!
What a smart idea. Kids already want to help, so why not make it easy for them?
