Over the last 5 days, the weather has been gorgeous so the spawn and I have been outdoors, enjoying the sunshine!
And what exactly have we been doing under the cloudless, blue skies?
Soccer practice...
Blowing petals off of flowers in the light breeze...
Hanging out on the swings...
Planting our summer vegetable/fruit garden....tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, romaine lettuce, green beans, strawberries and watermelon
But just as they say, all good things must come to an end.
We're expecting rain over the next couple days. And I'll catch up on my blogging then!

What an uplifting post. We too are just coming out of the rain and into the sunshine.
Veggie/fruit garden too. Is there no end to your talent? You should see my pathetic attempt at growing basil. Actually, you can't because the sad twig was put in the bin yesterday.
Shelly
The rain will be perfect to give your newly planted garden and nice nourishing drink for a great start. I swear, ya can water and water but never do what a long tall glass from Mother Nature will do for plants. I'm a farm chick...I know these things. Heeheehee!
I'm so happy to see you and your 'spawn' enjoying your blue skies. I've been neck deep in spreading my big old dump truck full of mulch to wheelbarrow to my many flower beds. I do this every year, I'm crazy like that.
I will have four of my grandkiddos the last half of this week and guess what....rain is predicted every day I'll have them. I feel some hands on inside projects comin' on.
Ya'll have a beautifully blessed day with your family!!!
I love that you call them "spawn." It makes me happy...don't know why. Probably b/c someone else has a sense of humor about this parenting stuff as sick as mine.
Kids look great and like they're enjoying every minute!
Your garden is beautiful...I'm totally jealous as I will have a 4x4 container garden to house all of my summer goodies...for the first time ever...very jealous!
Enjoy your sunny days! Outside fun is a great way to let the kids burn off some energy! : )
It's been like that here too. We spent all day Sunday outside and got a little sun to show for it! But, alas, those storms are moving in this week!
Love the pictures!!!
Any kid caught dispersing dandelion seeds on my weed-wracked lawn is on weed pulling duty for a century, or until they get married and leave the house.
Eventually, the trade off is just too steep.
Great photos .. they make me long for CA. I'm so blog-blocked these days I'm struggling to make worth while comments ... yikes ... maybe it's just the spring weather ... hope you continue to enjoy yours...:))
It's been so gorgeous that I haven't wanted to blog either!
i suppose we'll have to excuse you for a good reason. but you have to share your veggies with us when they start to come up!
It sounds like you all have been having lots of fun! I love that you have a garden. I so wish we could have one!
Its been nice here too. I love it!
If it wasn't for facebook, I would have surely thought the kids sent you over the edge and you had to be committed to the psych ward.
Kidding.
Sort of.
:)
So glad you're finally having some nice weather and you guys can be outside!
And Justin Bieber is more annoying than the Jonas Brothers. Who knew that was possible?
Don't worry, we would much rather you play with your children in the sunshine than post daily for our benefit! (Just makes us look forward to your next post that much more.)
Beautiful pictures. And that garden sounds amazing! I wish I was motivated enough to do something like that. Enjoy your time outdoors before the rain!
Been raining here a lot too. But sun is going to start coming out and it's supposed to be 85 later this week! What? Way too early for that kind of heat. Ugh.
Glad y'all are enjoying the outdoors. I love the vegetable garden. I think I want to do that in maybe another year or two, when I have time to maintain it and when I know the little girls aren't going to run through it and destroy it. My kids would love it! Keep us posted on how that goes!
I'm always delighted to see photos of those gorgeous kids!
Love sunny days! Makes quiet nights cause the kids are so dang tired. HEHE! Love the watermelon idea. We have a garden but haven't ventured into fruit. I might have to try it! Once did cucumbers and had about 1,000...not a lot to do with that many!
I would be enjoying the weather as well!
What a great looking start to your garden...can't wait to see the turn out. I wish I was a green thumb!
I could write a very similar post except mine contains baseball instead of soccer. Glad you are enjoying the sunshine, I know we are!
Your garden looks great! We are just prepping to get ours in the ground. I just wrote a similar post relating to why I got nothing done this weekend - the beautiful weather!
Nice! We were teased with a week of really nice weather here too. Today it's raining.
Your garden looks so nice! I planted a garden 2 weeks ago...my first one. And it's the UGLIEST looking garden I have ever laid eyes on. Let's hope the vegetables don't care...
I love the soccer pics!
Great pictures! I am glad that you have been enjoying such great weather. Our weather has been nice lately too! And I have been so preoccupied that I have not gotten around to visit my wonderful blogging friends either. It feels good to take some time to stop by and see what is going on in everyone's lives today. Looks like yours is just gorgeous by these pictures. :)
The sunshine is way to great to be sitting inside and blogging anyway! This was a cute post and I love your garden! Great pics!
Sounds like you've been having a great time! I wish I had a place to plant a garden!
Sometimes I love getting out and just "doing" with the kids! Your kiddos look so very happy! And I know that makes Mama happy! Kudos to you, girl, for changing Mother's Day and celebrating YOU! I'm proud of you!
We're planting our garden, too, although it's in the garage right now in little seed starters and planters until the weather/ground warms enough to transplant. Love the pics!
Beautiful photos! My garden is planted too and we enjoyed the nice weather over the weekend. Too bad it has been raining today. But I heard this coming weekend is supposed to be nice again. I can't wait!
how nice is that.. fun day outside. we need rain too..
Your garden plot looks so organized! I'm still a little scared to plant my tomatoes--- we can still get some pretty hard freezes here in April. But it looks like y'all have had some glorious days playing!
So jealous of all the goodies you get to plant!
Go ahead and PLAY...trust me coming off the cold and snowy winter we are outside alot too. Enjoyed the pictures and good luck with the garden, my youngest begs me each year to plant a garden but we lived near a wooded area so the deer are a plenty and they eat everything in sight...including my tulips....but that's a whole other post! LOL
I've always wanted a veggie/fruit garden but I can't even keep an aloe vera plant alive (and that doesn't take much)! I'll have to live vicariously through you, so please post pics for us to see. Enjoy the outdoor family time!
So glad you could enjoy the weather while it lasts!! The blog will wait... We have some of the same "beautiful flowers" blowing through our yard!
I love the shot of pink in that picture! Too cute!
Nothing beats a good swing! Now I also have to tell you I am a little envious about that garden. I'll have to see if the Hubs is up for turning over some dirt:)
My cousin and I started a garden this month. And I love swing sets and blowing off the dandelion fuzzes! :D
Looks like lots of fun.
What a great idea plant some fruits and vegetables.
Nice!
I wish I could plant things without killing it.
Those are great pictures. I love it when my kids play soccer! The weather has been gorgeous, hasn't it? But did you guys get the storm over there today????? I was totally tripping out!
It's great that you are able to plant your own fruits and veggies. :) Watermelon?! Wow. What I wouldn't give to have my own watermelon patch.
We forgive you! I do the same. After all, the rain will come, and we'll be back indoors soon enough!
Love how big your garden is...I can't wait to get started on mine this year.
I taught Nathan how to blow on those flower things last year, now this year it's all he wants to do LOL!
How on earth do you get so many comments woman!? You have to teach me....I suck!
Oh how I hear you! I live in MN and the weather is unbelievable! We are out all that we can plus we put up a badminton net and my husband and I are out after the girls go to bed!!!
I would love to do a veg garden, but we have nasty rabbits and dogs who would pee on it!
Awesome pics, weather and garden ..can I come over and play..Glad youve been getting some fun and sun..good for you its rejuvenating..Ive been doing the same...well fun and sun..no garden ..Im not too good at it..but yours looks like perfection..I cant wait to see how it comes along..!
can u believe we are back to rain again! Crazy!!!
I remember your garden from last year...I am impressed that you do that :)
I love how your garden is situation around the patio - what a clever idea!
Your garden looks amazing---I am so jealous. I want one, too. But I haven't got a clue and I think the bunnies, chipmunks, and squirrels would eat it all....
Looks like you made hay whilst the sun shone... perfect reason not to blog.
Your children look so happy playing in the sun excellent work Mummy.
Thanks for sharing.
Oh how I miss the days when my kids were little and we were making wishes on dandillions! You are doing exactly what you are meant to be doing. Your garden is gonna be awesome by the way. I hope we get to see the results come summer.
Helene, that garden looks cool. The area looks even better. Must be Tims idea. Hope you all enjoy the nice weather.
i am completely jealous of your garden. like com-plete-ly jealous ;)
Love Bella's pink outfit & piggies!
Can't wait to see this year's zucchini.
Gorgeous! I know how you feel- it's been nice and sunny here now this weekend is rainy. I have to pack up my apartment though so it's good timing, I guess!
