Halloween arrived early this year, thanks to Hershey's!

Make no mistake...Halloween is my favorite holiday.  Perhaps because it's one of the first signs that fall has arrived.  Or it could very well possibly be because free candy is involved.

Yeah, more than likely, it's the latter reason.  While trick-or-treating, I'm the one mom you hear telling her kids, "Come on...you're not THAT tired.  Let's just hit up 20 more houses and then we can go home, okay?!"

Halloween came early at our home this year when I received an offer to review some of Hershey's Halloween candy!  Usually I ask the kids before accepting an offer if it's something they're interested in trying.  I didn't even bother this time...I mean, it's a no-brainer, yes?

Late last week, a huge box arrived on our doorstep full of candy samples.  And let me just say, Hershey's definitely knows how to please a crowd of children!

We received the new Twizzlers Assortment 120 Snack Size Pieces (Mini-Bars Candy Strawberry, Pull n' Peel Candy Wildberry and Pull n' Peel Candy Green Apple), the new Hershey's Candy Assortment with 100 Snack Size Packages (Reese's Pieces, Whoppers Malted Milk Balls, Milk Duds and Jolly Rancher lollipops) AND a Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkin Jumbo Snack Size candy.

I know, right?  That's a serious amount of candy right there.  To say my children were beyond thrilled is putting it mildly.

Immediately, the kids ripped into the bags and began to devour whatever they could get their little hands on as I read the material included with the package, which mentioned some delicious recipes and craft activities to be found at Celebrate with Hershey's.

I had this wild idea of creating some spooky cupcakes or cookies which I could display in this review....you know, like "Hey, look at all the cool fun things we made with our Halloween candy!"

However, the kids made sure that idea never came to fruition as they gobbled up a sick amount of candy that would even make Augustus Gloop wince in horror.

It's okay, though.  Halloween only comes once a year and I fully believe in letting the kids enjoy it as much as they want (provided they manage to eat an apple somewhere in there and brush their teeth twice a day....it can't be ALL sunshine and roses, people).

My personal favorites were the Milk Duds, which I honestly hadn't had since I was a child.  Total chocolatey deliciousness!

The kids....well, they liked everything, especially the Jolly Rancher lollipops which came in a variety of fruity flavors.

If you haven't bought your Halloween candy yet OR if you're throwing a fabulous party and you want to make sure all your little guests and/or trick-or-treaters are perfectly happy, make sure to buy Hershey's candy!

You'll be the talk of the town....but in a good way!

Hershey Kisses of course! ;)

Did you know that Hershey is only a 45 min drive from my house? We LOVE visiting Hershey! We were just there in Sept....I need to create that post so you can experience Hershey Chocolate World (it's the best!)! Does this tempt you to visit PA yet?!!!

How sweet that Hershey sent you all that wonderful chocolate to try! Happy Halloween!

huh. i figured Hershey's would be secure enough in their own chocoloate-hood that they wouldn't need anybody to rate and review their products anymore. i thought everybody already knew that candy was awesome. in any case, congrats on hitting the jackpot of all free samples! i'm jealous.

I love almost all candy, but it's the truly seasonal stuff that I eat waaay too much of...because once it's gone, it's gone, ya know? I've eaten at least 5 pounds (probably no joke!) of candy corn to date, for example, and I still have 5 more days until Halloween. Bottoms up! And then the stores will put out their holiday candy, and I'll have to have those gooey peppermint kisses and lots of red and green spice drops. :)

I am not actually a big candy person. chocolate yes, candy no. But during Halloween, I can't get enough Nerds. It is really ridiculous.

What?!!! You haven't had a Milk Dud in years. You used to make having two sets of twins look easy but, now that I know you have been deprived of Mild Duds for years I am seriously worried about you.

On the other hand, if writing your blog gets you free Hershey's candy (of any sort), then whatever you go through is worth it. "You'll be the talk of the town....but in a good way!" Hysterical!

I love Hershey's chocolate. My favorite is Hershey's Special Dark. But I also love Mounds chocolate too. Their Milky Way Dark is awesome. I guess I just like chocolate in general.

I hope you and your family has a safe and Happy Halloween!

Oh lucky duck!!! Those twizzlers have me wishing I had some to chew on right now.

My favorite Halloween candy has to be Reese Peanut Butter Cups - peanut butter & chocolate...can't go wrong.

God bless and enjoy your very 'sweet' day!!! :o)

Talk about sugar rush. My younger one would go nuts if that arrived in my house.

I take all Reece Butter Cups from Sam's stash.

Oh, my boys would have loved that.

Okay, IF I let them have any.

I love milk duds.

omg. I'm drooling. and good for you for letting them have whatever they want! i'm a firm believer that if all you do is constantly deny them what they want, later on they'll just have issues.

;-)

it's just hard for me to resist sneaking bites from their goodie bags!

Milk Duds are definitely towards the top of the list. I can't resist candy corn at Halloween time either - although I get sick of it really fast. :)

I figure that if the children are alive when my husband gets home at the end of the day, I've done my job.
