Want to know how my first week of the new year is going??

Well, 2012 is in full swing and let me tell you all how my first week of the new year is going so numbers.

6 - the number of puke puddles I've had to clean up

1 - the number of children who were responsible for half of the puke

1 - the number of cats who were responsible for the other half

34 - the number of times I gagged and dry heaved as I cleaned up the puke

3 - the number of times I had to chase the cat away from eating its own puke

9 - the number of miles I've ridden my bike while the little twins rode their scooters alongside me

4 - the number of times I said, "Okay, let's cross the street but be sure to stay in the cross walk."

7 - the number of times I screamed, "Stay in the freakin' cross walk for God's sake!  Do you want to get run over by a car?!"

2 - the number of times the little smart asses laughed and said, "Yeah, that would be cool"

5 - the number of times I warned the little twins about the uneven cracks in the sidewalk

5 - the number of times the little twins flew over the handle bars of their scooters every time they ran over the uneven cracks in the sidewalk

25 - the number of minutes one of them cried afterwards, even though I had already hugged him for...

3 - the number of minutes I comforted the crying child

2 - the number of annoying strangers who asked me if I knew that one of my kids was crying

8 - the number of times I threatened to never bring them on a bike ride with me ever again

0 - the number of times I'll probably follow through on that threat because I have no choice but to bring them along

3 - the number of dinners I made that my family truly enjoyed

1 - the number of dinners I made that my family truly hated

5 - the number of times I said "tough luck" to the family members who dared to complain out loud about the meal

2 - the number of pounds I've lost since my holiday eating frenzy

165.5 - the number of minutes I get complete peace and quiet while the kids are in school (even though one kid is home sick)

23 - the number of times I laughed at myself for thinking I might actually miss the kids once they were back in school again after winter break

I'm impressed that you just dry heaved!

At least life is interesting?

Grr. No, asshole, I don't know my kid is crying, thanks for letting me know.

Hope next week is puke free. :)

Definitely a busy beginning of the year! Sorry about the puking, hopefully that will be the end of it for 2012, right?

Jenny said...

Oh man, puke is the worst! I hope the kid and the cat feel better soon! LOL about the cat eating it's own puke. Why do they do that? It's so nasty!

Hope everyone is well soon and that no one else catches it!

Congrats on the weight loss :-)

My kids are still home! School doesn't start until Monday. Sorry about the puke- so not fun.

And this post is awesome!

I'm gaging just reading about it!

sick kids are no fun! :( But gosh, isn't it nice having some of the kids back in school? Love it! And I placed dinner in front of my kids last night and the first thing out of their mouth was "ewww". I may or may not have lost it. They apologized though. So win for me! Hope your week ends well.

Oh Helene, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you invariably manage to find the humor---in this instance, amidst the heaving! Hoping things look up VERY VERY soon!

Ugh - puke is no fun! I can't do any puke, not even my own :)

0 - number of minutes Connor is quiet in a day :)

Even now I hear him chattering away as he's falling asleep!

Don't you hate when strangers jump in like that? SEriously, no, I had no clue my child was crying.

When the kids were young it was vogue to have green shag carpet and ya'll know I just had to be 'in'. It was the worse thing ever cleanin' puke outta those fresh raked green shag carpets.

Oh, I still gag at the thought. Heeehehhe!!!

I hate that the little on was ill and I pray the stuff doesn't spread through your clan.

After a wonderful weekend celebratin' Christmas with the family I undecorated the Church Tuesday and undecked the Ponderosa yesterday. So far the year is goin' great...

Bring it on...I'm ready!!!

God bless ya sweetie and have a great day!!! :o)

Ick, I'm sorry you had to deal with puke. I hate that and usually wind up puking myself.

I've had an awesome week. My oldest son turned 40 --God I'm old!--and, I got 2 books published on Kindle!

So if I play these numbers in the lottery and win...does this mean I have to share the winnings with you?
It's a trick question.
Kidding it's not.
I'd buy you a back massage.

Yikes your hands are full....blechy puke!! My cat loves to eat string, especially balloon strings. Then she pukes them back up for my cleaning pleasure. #annoying.

The dweebs who asked if you knew they were crying are right up there with the dork who jumped up and smacked her thigh in 'glee' shouting "I KNEW That kid was gonna fall !I KNEW IT!" when my toddler fell down the steps of viewing benches at the pool while we were watching the olders in lessons. I felt like sayig "Really?? Why didn't you warn me then if you had a magic globe!! OR! What about THIS? Possibly offer to HELP when you saw that I had one 16mth old running one way and a 2nd running the other!"

Hope things improve for you! HUGS HUGS

Whenever I tell Bree that something bad could happen to her, like getting kidnapped or hit by a car in a parking lot she just looks at me and says, "Just be quiet." as if I'm making it all up only to try and scare her and it's not working. I seriously think that she thinks I'm the World's Biggest Idiot. I need that on a coffee mug.

My first week of the New Year has been weird, bad, busy, and fun I guess. Hoping next week is better. I don't have high expectations for 2012 since 2011 sucked so bad.

By the sound of it, you're well into the new year already. LOL. So refreshing to read your post. Just makes me smile, laugh, "awwh" out loud and say "ouch". Hang in there Helene. It's just beginning. But they do get older by the year.

The busy life of a parent. I don't have so much of the time written out but I can say my beginning of the year has been crazy ... 96 hrs - the total time I will work in a 9 day time frame. 18 hrs - the time I will work just today!

You've fit a lot into a few short days! I hope the following year is less vomit-filled!

Very cute post! Sorry about the puke. At least it was only 1 kid. Hope the others don't get it. As for the cat, that is probably the worst thing about cats. They puke a lot and their pee is horrendous smelling. But they're so cute, right?

Hope you're enjoying the kids back in school!

Missy said...

Yes, that. Pretty much sums up my week too - re-entry has been difficult. But no puke, thank goodness.

Rebecca @ Unexplained X2 said...

I HATE puke...hate it.

I'm glad to hear that someone else freaks out about the street and I often wonder if I'm going too far in saying, "your brains will be splattered all over the ground and we'll have to go to the that what you want???" Then I think of you and know I'm not going too far. Thank you for that.

Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell said...

Oh geez, I'm not sure it's possible to have a worse start to the year than you. Sorry!

It's just leftover crap from last year. It's like when the clothing styles linger awhile into a new decade. Things are going to get better from here.

I figure that if the children are alive when my husband gets home at the end of the day, I've done my job.
